About Hanscombe Books

Hanscombe Books publishes what we’d actually want on our shelves: sharp nonfiction that respects your time and intelligence, and fiction that punches through the noise with real characters, rich worlds, and stories worth finishing.

We're not trying to please everyone. We’re not here to crank out bland content, chase trends, or fluff things up just to hit a word count. Our nonfiction is built to be useful—real strategies, real insight, no recycled blog posts dressed up as books. Our fiction? It’s driven by people you can believe in, even if they’re monsters, misfits, or barely holding it together. Sometimes especially then.

We keep our list lean and our quality high. Every title we publish should do one of two things: help you get better at something, or completely pull you into another world for a while. If it doesn’t do either, it doesn’t get published.

We work with authors who give a damn—about the work, about the craft, about the people on the other side of the page. And we give a damn too. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about selling books. It’s about building something that lasts. Books you want to reread. Stories that stick. Ideas that change how you approach the real world, even just a little.

This is a business—but it’s also the dream. The fun. The thing we stay up too late doing because we’d rather build something real than pad out another “content calendar.”

About the founder

Chazic Hanscombe founded Hanscombe Books after ten years ghostwriting stories that made other people rich and respectable. Now he puts his own name, and other worthy names, on the kind of books he actually wants to read: smart, sharp, genre-bending, and unfiltered.

Born in England, raised in South Africa, he tore through Cambridge A-levels by 16, studied law and business, then detoured into teaching, legal grunt work, and report writing for bureaucrats. All of it useful. All of it fuel.

His ghostwriting credits span over 70 books: mostly sci-fi, thrillers, and horror, but with enough strange non-fiction in the mix to break your algorithm. His work for clients earned a 4.8/5 star average and bestseller tags in categories from techno-thriller to occult memoir.

He’s a certified Creative Writing Specialist, SEO tactician, and martial artist (Okinawan Goju-Ryu). Which basically means he’s spent his adult life fighting, either with words, fists, or both.

When he’s not editing, writing, or dodging burnout, he’s probably rock climbing, deep diving, fishing, or playing piano in some forgotten room.

Hanscombe Books is what happens when you stop waiting for gatekeepers and build your own damn platform.
